Anybody been bitten by a Madeira tick?

Whilst on hol a tick jumped on my neck on the last day. By time I got home was very red and swollen so used dog tick remover and saw doctor next day. Now taking Doxycycline antbiotic which means have to avoid sunshine for next 2 weeks, and putting benadryl cream on bite. Is still swollen like a giant pimple. How long before it goes down?
