How Do I Combine Cardio And Weights?

My goal is to lose lots fat while keeping or even gaining a little muscle. The problem that I am having is that my weightlifting sessions include squats, which make my legs tired for at least two days, and therefore I am forced to do cardio with sore legs. I would wait for the soreness to abate, but by the time the soreness is gone it is another lifting day and I would have to skip the lifting in order to do the cardio. Ultimatelty I am afraid that I will begin to overwork my leg muscles to the point that cortisol will begin to be produced and defeat the whole purpose of the plan. Squats are an awesome exercise for the whole body-- especially due to the release of HGH and Testosrerone it cuases-- and I do not want to stop doing them. On the other hand cardio is exceptional for burning fat and general well being and I don't want to stop that either so I am caught in a conundrum. Do I stop squats and use my legs for Cardio and Hiit or do i keep doing squats and only do very light cardio with soreness or Do I do away with cardio all together and stick to squats ? I'm stuck and need help.
